USE FOR MARKETING PURPOSES
a. DoubleClick by Google/DoubleClick Floodlight
This site uses DoubleClick by Google, a service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). For this purpose, Google uses the “DoubleClick” cookie, which allows the browser to be recognized when users visit other websites. The information generated by the cookie regarding the visit to these websites (including the IP address) will be transmitted to Google in the United States and stored on its server (see below for more information on data transfers to the United States).
Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website in terms of advertising to be displayed, to compile reports for the website operator regarding website activity and advertisements, and to provide other services related to the use of the website and the internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. However, Google will not associate users’ IP addresses with any other data held by Google.
Using the marketing tools employed, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the extent and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool, and the information provided here reflects our current knowledge. By integrating DoubleClick, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you are registered with a Google service, Google may associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or are not logged in, it is possible that the provider will identify and store your IP address.
Additionally, the DoubleClick Floodlight cookies we use allow us to understand whether you take any action on our website after viewing or clicking (conversion tracking) on one of our ads/videos displayed on Google or other platforms via DoubleClick. DoubleClick uses this cookie to understand the content you interact with on our website so that we can deliver targeted advertising to you in the future.
For more information on DoubleClick by Google, please visit https://www.google.com/doubleclick and refer to Google’s general privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=de.
To create pseudonymized user profiles for advertising and analysis purposes, we rely on a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f of the GDPR. This applies to all data processing activities listed here. Our legitimate interest lies in direct marketing and the analysis of the use of our website.
You can object to the above-mentioned data processing in various ways: a) by configuring your browser settings to delete third-party cookies, thus avoiding receiving third-party ads (see section 6 below); b) by disabling conversion tracking cookies by configuring your browser to block cookies from the domain https://www.google.com/settings/ads, this setting being deleted when you clear your cookies; c) by disabling interest-based ads from providers that are part of the “About Ads” self-regulatory campaign through the page http://www.aboutads.info/choices, this setting being deleted when you clear your cookies; d) by permanently disabling it on Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome browsers through the page http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin.
b. Facebook Pixel/Facebook Custom Audience
On our website, we use the “Facebook Pixel” of the social network Facebook, operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, United States, or if you are in the European Union, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Facebook uses the Facebook Pixel to identify visitors to our website and define a target group for displaying advertisements (called “Facebook ads”). Therefore, we use the Facebook Pixel to display Facebook ads, which we place ourselves, only to users of the social network who have shown interest in our site or who meet certain criteria (e.g., interest in certain topics or products based on visited webpages) and which we have reported to Facebook (custom audiences).
We also use the Facebook Pixel to ensure that our Facebook ads match the potential interests of users and do not annoy them. By using the Facebook Pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing if users have been redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (process called “conversion”).
The Facebook Pixel is directly integrated by Facebook when you visit our website and can store a “cookie” on your device. If you log in to Facebook or visit Facebook while logged in, the visit to our website will be recorded in your profile. The data collected about you is anonymous to us and does not allow us to draw any conclusions about the identity of users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that it can be linked to the profile of the user concerned. The data may, therefore, be used by Facebook for its own market research and advertising purposes.
In addition, when using the Facebook Pixel, we use the additional function “extended comparison,” whereby data for the creation of target groups (“Custom Audience” or “Lookalike Audience”) is transmitted to Facebook in encrypted form.
The data processing by Facebook is carried out in accordance with Facebook’s privacy policy. For specific information and details about the Facebook Pixel and its functionality, please refer to Facebook’s help pages.
You can object to the collection and use of your data by the Facebook Pixel for displaying Facebook ads. To configure the types of ads you see on Facebook, go to Facebook’s settings page and follow the instructions in the “Ad settings” section.
You can also opt-out of the use of cookies for reach measurement and advertising purposes via the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page. Please refer to the following pages for more opt-out options:

This allows us to use cookies to provide ads based on the interests of users of our website. For this purpose, user interactions on our website are analyzed, allowing us to, for example, identify what interests the user so that we can display targeted ads on other pages even after they have visited our website. The cookies used are intended to identify a web browser on a specific computer, not to identify a person. No personal data is stored.
You can refuse Google cookies by following the instructions and downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following address: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996?hl=en.

We also use Sizmek to measure and statistically evaluate the success of our advertisements (e.g., interaction with an advertisement or click on it).
Cookies are used for this purpose to analyze and evaluate your usage behavior (e.g., clicks) and interactions with the advertisements. The data collected includes usage data (e.g., clicks on advertisements, websites, time and duration of visits) and browser data (e.g., language settings, screen resolution), which do not allow any conclusions about your identity.
